Okay, so i should start out by introducing myself-
My name is Archre Lyrist and i am a music major at SBU. i play the violin as my concentration, with a secondary in piano, and a tertiary tie of voice and cello. Voice and cello are my tertiaries because i suck at them. I also suck at piano, but that's because i only started lessons when i started college- they require it.
So, yeah. Anyway, i decided- actually i thought of this a few weeks ago but i got distracted and it only now just crossed my mind again- to start a blog that goes inside my head. I have ADHD. And i feel like a lot of the time people (including me) can't keep up with my thoughts and what i'm saying. And i figured writing it down would make it a little clearer. I'm also slightly OCD, germaphobic, and a major insomniac- i've got three kinds of insomnia. The kind that keeps you up, the kind that wakes you up continuously when you finally fall asleep, and the kind that gets you up really early and won't let you go back to sleep. Sometimes they take turns, sometimes they hit me all in one night.
Anyway- the good news about the insomnias- i heard that Einstein had all three as well....the bad news is that he died before he hit forty...
But i've been pretty well convinced i'm going to die before i'm thirty for a while now, anyway, so it's no big deal.
A topic...let's see...my brain just hit on trains, so we'll start on choo choos and go from there.
Speaking of "choo choos" why do people bother filling children's heads with nonsense words for things like trains, or, well, i dunno, i can't think- baba, like in bottle, and etcetera, when the original words aren't difficult to begin with? n y do sum ppl typ lk dis wen it is jus as easy to type like this?
No, seriously, that really REALLY gets on my nerves. i don't want to get a message that looks like i have to decode it. And i've always wondered, do people who speak languages other than english shorten type as much as these idiots in our language do? which language does it the most? i wonder most about the germans.
i took german in high school- i really liked it. i took a semester in college, but i have a problem with attendence policies. i've always had a knack for languages, though, and if i'm not fluent, i can still pronounce really well.
i'm SO good at mimicking. no kidding. i love to mimic (how the heck do you spell that?) my friends, and other people i know well, and i feel like my knack for pronounciation comes in handy, though there are some accents i just can't do at all.
i got distracted by the tags box- i typed in music as one of the tags, so i want to talk to you about one of my delusions- and i'm not actually deluded, by the way, i just wanted you to pay attention.
i love bach. Johann Sebastian Bach. Which makes sense, because violins are AWESOME for baroque music. hahaha...baroque...so many nerdy music major puns just waiting to be launched...anyway, Bach and i were married. Well, we still are, even though he's been dead for a few hundred years. Sad, i know, but our marriage was full of love while it lasted- i was his first wife. i never actually died (as you can see) he just hid me in the basement for a while so he could marry someone who was willing to give him more children. But that's one of my many fantasies.
i feel like when people say "fantasies" or "fantasize" (however the hell you spell that) people automatically assume it's sexual, but that isn't true. it's ignorant to assume that that's all people can think about.
i fantasize all the time- i have a very vivid imagination. sometimes after i've read a book (i LOVE to read- we should discuss books next time!) i go to bed and i fall asleep to a fantasy where i'm in the book, and the story molds around me- it's like a little adventure, a waking dream! One of my favourite books to do that with is The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins)- the imagery in that book is fantastic and the world she creates is so vivid and inspiring!
i am an artist- i work through inspiration, and with my lack of attention span, it comes and goes quickly. I took ritalin when i was a kid, but the last thing i've been on is Adderoll- however you spell that- i remember the ritalin working, and my friends swear there's a difference when i'm on the adderoll, but i can't tell any difference when it comes to that latest med. i hate taking medicine, anyway. i don't even take tylenol or midol unless i can't avoid it, and even then, i take half the recommended dosage.
Well, i don't know who in their right mind would read this, but i'm just throwing it out there.
Random quote from me: "Son of a BACH!"
Yes, i'm such a music nerd that even my swears are musical references. Just wait till the next post. I have oh so many more!
